The Countdown on the Bench
Lin did not take it. He looked across the stadium. Pitchers, runners, coaches, even fans waving towels behind home plate were covered in colored numbers. The flood of information struck his mind all at once. Warm blood ran from his nose onto his white wristband.
Then the Thunder's cleanup hitter swung through strike three.
Game over?
No. The catcher missed the pitch. The ball rolled to the backstop, and the batter sprinted safely to first. Two outs still shone on the scoreboard. The stadium gasped, then erupted even louder.
【Luck: 11→6.】
Lin watched the golden flame over Han vanish. He finally understood that this was no hallucination.
The next two hitters drew walks. Bases loaded.
