Chapter Two: Three Seconds From Now, the Bullet Fires First
Before the deciding fight, more than a dozen sounds flooded Lin Mo’s head: two reloads on the left, three sets of footsteps above, an ability detonating near the core. Every one felt real. Pain drilled into his temples. His vision tilted.
The old Lin Mo would have calculated the probabilities, selected one answer, and demanded obedience.
This time he fired once toward the left and drew a circle to the right.
Danger left. Main attack right.
Zhou Yan breached right without hesitation. Su Cheng’s scan exposed a decoy. Tang Ye remained alone on the left, waiting for the future Lin Mo had abandoned.
Three seconds later, an assassin lunged from the left-hand shadows.
Crack.
Tang Ye landed the headshot.
I have this side, he typed in team chat.
