Chapter Five The Fall of Moretti

Carlo launched his final offensive in a rainstorm. Moretti gunmen hit three clubs, a warehouse, and Saint Anthony's at the same time. They thought Ethan would be forced to run from fire to fire. They did not know Victor had read their encrypted calls, Sophie had prepared insurance investigators, and Marcus had turned every entrance into a trap. At the first club the lights died as the soldiers entered and sirens arrived two minutes later. At the second, the gunmen found their own creditors and the husbands of their mistresses waiting outside. At the warehouse there was no cash, only an anonymous federal tip and a shipment of Moretti weapons.
