Chapter Three: The Open Eight-Tenths
Next time, the Hounds refused the switch. Zhou curled behind Han and scored reverse. Nine-five. Then they blocked the corner; Su lofted the ball off the glass, Han tipped without jumping, and Zhou finished the cut. Nine-six.
They ran the same beginning seven times, each with a different exit. Han became a moving wall. Su calculated the seams behind it. Zhou stopped trying to control either one and simply completed the step when the ball arrived.
Nine-nine.
The captain charged Su. Zhou foresaw it but resisted the steal. Su retreated, guiding him into Han, who stood with hands down and absorbed the collision. As she fell, Su flicked the loose ball to Zhou.
