Zero’s tree split. Verification succeeded on ninety-nine percent of branches. On the only failure branch, one pixel in the lower-right corner pulsed every seventeen seconds.
“The balance is a recording,” Lin said.
Silence filled the room.
“Evidence?” Raven asked.
“The display says exactly two hundred million. The corresponding chain address holds 2.73 million. Your screen resets its validation animation every seventeen seconds because it is not online. The maintenance schedule is also false.
