Leon was about to jump, but Mira's command arrived first. "No jump. Right-side building support." Leon understood. Astra-X kicked the base of a shattered tower. The entire structure collapsed, steel and concrete falling like a mountain. It sealed the third enemy's route exactly. Forced to slow down, the Void mech was caught by Tao's fire and pinned in the rubble. "Beautiful," Ilya blurted. Rafe said nothing, but his spear work became harsher. The first convoy escaped. The second convoy was a trap. When the squad reached the central plaza, every distress signal went dark at once. The ground opened. Six Void mechs rose from below, and above them the black fog gathered into a huge purple core.
