The First Reversal

Northstar Forge’s return to VCT Americas barely made a ripple at first. The announcement was small. The roster looked ordinary. Most media treated them like a transitional team, the kind of squad that filled a broadcast slot before the real contenders arrived. Then the regular season started, and the predictions began to age badly. In week one they met a team famous for suffocating pace control. Those guys liked to squeeze the map by taking early space, forcing a slow default, then ending rounds with layered crossfires and a patient retake. Jackson answered by flipping the opening script. They gave up mid control on purpose in the first two rounds, baited the enemy into over-rotating, and then struck back with a fast execute on the third.
