But on Mianmian's drawing, two words were clearly written across the label: DREAM-RETURNING SONG.
The train entered a tunnel, turning the window into a mirror.
“What if I'm the one who died in that photograph?” Wanzhao asked.
“You're right here.”
“What proves an identity? Medical records? A family's memories? What you remember about yourself? I'm missing part of all three.”
Xinghe covered her hand on the tray table. “Then add another form of proof. I remember you.”
She did not pull away. Instead, she took out her recorder and pressed the red button.
“Memory backup number four. At 3:17 p.m. aboard Train G117, Xu Xinghe held my hand. His palm was sweaty. He appeared calm and was, objectively, extremely nervous.”
