If he let people die for profit, he would be disposed of like the other six.
“What does Everlight want?” Su asked.
Ye watched the building burn. “Someone capable of bearing the future on their behalf.”
Sirens approached. Ye collected the unsigned contract and left behind a black invitation. At midnight the next night, the Everlight Consortium would hold a private auction atop Obsidian Capital's headquarters.
There would be only one item: the closing level of the global market index two days from now.
After Ye departed, Su lowered her voice. “Do you believe her?”
“Not one word.” Lin turned over the invitation. A transaction number was printed on the reverse. It matched the trade that had destroyed Obsidian's ten-billion-yuan fund three years ago.
