Chapter Five: A Delivery Rider in Couture
On the afternoon of the gala, three tailors, a stylist, and six garment cases filled Zhou Jibai's room.
Shen Yanci occupied the only clear chair like a man supervising an acquisition. When Jibai emerged in the seventh black tuxedo, the room went silent for two seconds.
The cut narrowed his waist and revealed shoulders usually hidden under a cheap raincoat. Yanci's gaze moved from collar to wrist and stayed long enough for the stylist to lower her eyes and pack her tools.
“Doesn't fit?” Jibai asked.
“Too well.”
“And that's a problem?”
Yanci rose and tied the bow tie himself. “Many people will look at you tonight.”
In the mirror, Jibai watched them both. “Is that a risk clause?”
“A private opinion.”
