Chapter Three: You Were Painted Too
Before Lin Mo's second broadcast, the platform sent three warnings: no superstition, no staged paranormal activity, and no self-harm for engagement.
Lin replied, “I am only going to paint.”
At two in the afternoon, three million people were watching.
He fixed the recovered portrait beside the camera and began a new version on the Night Screen. Gu Wenzhou did not appear. His lawyers announced instead that the old portrait was stolen work by the missing painter Shen Zhou, and that Lin would face prosecution.
The name stopped Lin's stylus.
Shen Zhou had been the most celebrated young artist in Lan City seven years earlier. He vanished after the fire at the city museum. Critics said he could paint things people had forgotten.
