She knew the name from archived forum pages. On the day STATION REMOVED came true, twelve buses and one train had skipped Shoubei Lane, yet no passenger complained. By the next morning, it was absent from every map in the city.
“Everyone assumed it meant a transit stop,” she said.
“So the system chose the cheaper deletion of public records.” Gu touched the diagram. “But this is a physical route printed before the rule.”
Instead of taking the right-hand tunnel labeled CORE MAINTENANCE, they pushed through the advertising panel opposite the erased name. A stairway descended behind it.
