On Independence Day night, the Boston Harbor fireworks have barely lifted into the sky when the city is thrown into blackout, network collapse, and a chain of explosions within ten seconds. Elias Mercer, an ordinary electrician, was only there to fix a faulty switch cabinet, but he stumbles into a real-world conspiracy: the holiday crowds, delivery drones, traffic systems, and live news feeds are being turned into a remotely controlled kill grid.
