“If you’re watching, one thing needs to be clear,” she said into the camera. “I just got surveillance showing a man in federal security gear entering the basement power room. That was not a firefighter or a hospital contractor.”
The shot changed.
Trevor Hale appeared outside in the shadows.
He looked straight at the camera, as if he had been waiting for it, then gave the smallest possible smile and walked into a white unmarked van.
Grace inhaled sharply. “He wanted them to film him?”
“No,” Elias said, staring at the van. “He wanted us to see it.”
Megan’s voice kept going from the screen. “Police are locking down the perimeter, but multiple witnesses say the attackers are trying to move a key person. We will keep following—”
The frame jolted.
