"You were in the core zone during the blast, and your movement trail lines up with the anomalous wave pattern preceding it." Marcus kept his tone flat. "We need to know whether you were part of the event."
Noah almost laughed. "I'm a delivery guy."
"A lot of disasters start with 'just' someone."
Lucy stepped between them. "You don't have a warrant."
"Journalists should be careful about stepping into an investigation," another agent said.
Noah stood up and the room tipped black for a second. Then that same low pulse from last night returned. He could see the vibration lines in the room now: the bed frame, the IV stand, the rails, every metal edge. He could even see the slight rebound in the floor when Marcus planted his shoe.
