They Said I Was Crazy
The car had gone less than three minutes before a multi-vehicle pileup erupted at the next intersection. A wave of pressure seemed to slam through the road. Horns and alarms tangled together, and the metal barrier under the overpass began to hum.
Noah snapped his head up.
Ahead of them, under the highway, a blue pattern kept expanding across the pavement like a shadow of the one from the port.
"Stop the car!" he shouted. "The overpass is going to fail!"
No one listened.
The side barrier split apart a second later and concrete blasted down toward a crowd below.
Marcus yanked the door open and dove out to rescue people, almost on instinct. Noah ran too, and as he ran, he saw the vibration lines accelerate and tangle into a broken machine.
