The second man lunged. Noah stepped left onto a hairline crack in the floor. In his sight it glowed like a line about to break. He stomped on the exact same point, the floor dropped half an inch, and the attacker lost his balance into a pile of toolboxes.
This wasn't martial arts.
It was hearing how a city broke, then making it break on his terms.
He still wasn't good enough.
The third man's stun baton scraped his ribs and white pain flashed through him. The fourth shoved him flat against the wall and jammed the baton under his throat.
"That's it?" the man mocked. "The internet made you sound like a hero. You don't look like even a decent dog."
