Elliot studied him for two seconds.
The people inside a resource node are always more dangerous than the looters outside, because they know the doors and they know your shortages.
"Get in," Elliot said.
When the truck started moving again, the motorcycles were already closing in. One rider lifted a bottle with a rag stuffed in it, a homemade firebomb. Flames flashed in the dark. Carl jerked the wheel and the pickup scraped the curb, nearly sinking into softened asphalt.
The first firebomb hit the station canopy. Fire raced along the remaining vapors in a single violent burst. Glass shattered. Heat rolled across the lot.
