Ten Thousand Yuan in Sixteen Minutes

At eighteen degrees below zero, every breath felt like swallowing crushed ice. Lin Yan did not open the controller cabinet immediately. He checked the vents, listened to the compressor, and swept a thermal sensor across all six circuits. Oracle had told him a third-row relay would overheat, but not why. Real repair work was not replacing the component named in an answer. If he failed to find the cause, a new relay would last five minutes. Twenty-three minutes and forty seconds remained. Through the glass, the duty manager shouted, “Do you know what you're doing?” Lin ignored him. He levered the cabinet open. Burned insulation tainted the air. The relay contacts were black, but the adjacent ammeter reading was strangely low.
