"She may not have died," Lin said. "She may be in one of those pods."
Batu handed her a filter. "Then we'll steal her back from inventory."
Station Seven's old duty room still sealed. It contained an offline radio and a paper accident ledger. Voss contacted the surface and managed to report their mine number before Governor Helan Qiao came on the channel.
"The cryogenic area is part of Dawnline's storm-contingency program," she said. "Return Lin Li and the biological key. I guarantee immunity for the others."
"Which others?" Voss asked.
After a pause, Helan named Zhou and Batu. She did not mention A-Ying.
Lin pulled the radio's power lead. They wrote every name they knew in the ledger, then scratched names inside their suits. Lin wrote Han Tuo.
