Chapter Five: The Type Tower
Gravity inside the Type Tower pointed toward the bottom of every word.
Gu Yan stepped onto the misspelled name SU QIAOW and pitched sideways. Zero pinned a descending stroke with his gradient blade and hauled him back.
“Don't correct it in your head,” Zero said. “The tower can hear you.”
The warning made the correct name brighter. Su Qiao glowed behind frosted glass in Gu Yan's mind. To avoid saying it, he remembered a rejected line she had written: *Let the fragrance stay later than the night.* Shen Zhuo had called it meaningless. Gu Yan had quietly preserved it.
The sentence slipped from a crack in the wall and became a cord around his wrist.
“Words remember who wrote them,” he said.
