Chapter Two: A Construction Site Funded with $2,600
Marcus noticed the brass light screen in the emerging living room, a smaller cousin of the Pinecrest design. “Only a few weeks away from Obsidian, and already copying company property?”
Lena turned on the wall display.
“First, the load-bearing wall was not removed.” She opened timestamped scans and Noah’s signed calculations. “Second, my original sketch for this light screen was registered two years before I joined Obsidian. Third, I invite the inspector to check the northwest beam spacing and every fire block. Stream the entire inspection.”
Two hours later, the inspector signed approval on camera. Noah handed Marcus the calculations. “Would you like an explanation of shear force?”
