Chapter Two: Buying a "Worthless" Team
There were no lights at the west gate.
Rain leaked through a rusted awning above three collection notices. The top one demanded 4.87 million yuan in overdue stadium fees from Linjiang Blaze within twenty-four hours.

"Cancel tomorrow's match!" a balding man shouted. "Travel, bonuses, medical bills—everything costs money. Dissolve now and we can at least sell the equipment."
"The players are already on the bus," white-haired coach Qin Haishan snapped. "Blaze may be poor, but we will not be cowards."
"Can pride pay a debt?"
"I don't know about pride," Chenzhou said, folding his umbrella, "but tomorrow's match is worth twenty million."
Silence.
