Chapter Five: Blind Spot in the Rain
Twelve screens showed twelve drivers dying. A thirteenth was blank, with Tang Li's inspection sheet beneath it.
They rushed inside. The ghost cars broke through the hospital walls, stretching the tiny room into an endless rain tunnel.
Lu Xiao pulled out the silver knife. “Cut the pursuit.”
“Editing isn't deletion.” Familiarity returned as Su Wan took it. “It's deciding which two moments touch.”
She made two cuts in the air, joining the ghosts' attack now to the moment they waited at kilometer zero ten years ago.
The image jumped.
All twelve cars disappeared. Only Han Che remained, watching from Lu Xiao's reflection.
“You cut the master reel that way three years ago,” he told Su Wan. “Then twelve worlds began eating one another.”
