Lin hesitated for half a second and turned to open a drawer.
Lu scanned the bottoms of the cups. They were numbered C7-01 through C7-07 and arranged by seat order. The first six bore passengers’ initials. The seventh had no name, but a faint streak of blue ink marked the edge of its lid.
Zhou Ke was seated at 48A, in the last row.
Lu took the sugar, poured it into his mouth, and asked, “Is the lavatory available?”
“When the turbulence settles.”
“Thank you.”
He returned to his seat as if nothing more than a dizzy spell had occurred. The cart continued aft. A live indicator had appeared on the patent page.
