“Mr. Kane,” Su said, “you are no longer making an offer. You are confirming what our email is worth.”
Silence.
Hotel security arrived ten minutes later and escorted them to the penthouse conference room. Beneath crystal lights, Kane occupied the center. Milo sat pale and silent on his left; Vale sat on his right.
“A fired scout and a club that will be insolvent tomorrow,” Vale said. “You have no place at this table.”
Lin pulled out a chair. “A seat isn't earned by wealth. It's earned by being necessary to the deal.”
Kane pushed a bid across the table. “Northcastle: twenty-four million guaranteed, six million in bonuses. Danube Star has accepted. Harborbridge's game is over.”
