Chapter Three: The Shared Dream
Seven years earlier, Lu Zhi's sister, Lu Cen, had entered Gu Linchuan's trauma-treatment trial and fallen into a coma from which she had never awakened. The official cause was an anesthetic accident.
"Before she collapsed, she wrote three pages," Lu Zhi said. "Page one: Don't say your name. Page two: The person who returns after seven seconds may not be you. Gu took the third page."
"Why tell me now?"
"Because she wrote your name at the bottom of page one." He met her eyes. "Back then, you weren't called Shen Yao yet."
The corridor seemed to narrow.
Shen Yao had been named by her adoptive father after losing her early memories in a near drowning at seven. Yet seven years ago she had been twenty-five and had long used the name.
