“Where?” Xu asked.
“We let the profiles run. We find the blind spot that isn't watching me.”
As they descended the fire stairs, the city shared his wanted picture. Every click accelerated the timer and gave a fraction of its weight to a false Lin.
In the lobby glass, his reflection remained at the apartment window twenty-seven floors above.
It did not follow.
It raised one hand and wrote in the condensation:
TOO LATE.
