It was not one of her studio’s fittings. “Who replaced these flowers?” The florist went pale. “Mr. Tang’s assistant brought them twenty minutes ago. He said the bride was allergic to the originals.” Theo’s gaze hardened. Serena noticed nothing. She took Mira’s hand. “Thank you. If you hadn’t—” Her palm was warm, her gratitude genuine. Mira wanted to call the vision a concussion. Then her fingers brushed the lace flower on Serena’s wrist, and the basement flashed before her again. This time she saw the date on a newspaper: nine months from now. She also saw boxes of unapproved drugs made by a Tang family company. Mira released her. “Ms. Shen?” Theo stepped closer. “Your company owes my family an explanation.”
