Chapter Two: Whom Does a Secret Own?
The first thing Zhao Kai brought was a nondisclosure agreement.
“I’m grateful you saved my wife’s piano,” he said in a temporary office at the shelter. “Last night invites misunderstandings. Sign, and you receive five hundred thousand yuan plus medical costs.”
The table bowed beneath the contract.
“Three kilos of sincerity,” Xu Cheng said from the doorway.
Zhao ignored her. Lin studied his right hand. The scar in the photograph was gone, which meant either makeup had hidden it or the vision had shown someone else.
“Where is Su Rui?” Lin asked.
“She left with another man.”
“Why hide the ring?”
“Perhaps she did. She hid many things from me.”
His grief remained flawless. The contract sank another millimeter.
Lin touched one corner.
