Chapter Five: Believers Share the Weight
Lu produced a transfer order from the new Municipal Weight Disaster Bureau, signed by Gu Wenzhou. It directed all accident relics to an underground repository under “Scale Zero Risk Centralization.”
“Centralized secrets?” Xu asked.
“Centralized anchors,” Lu said. “They believe reinforced geology can bear what the city cannot.”
The server was only a ledger of deception. This lock was the object most deeply connected to the deaths—the true anchor. It remained heavy because the families still did not know who had stolen the workers’ escape.
Xu reached six households. The seventh address was a demolished block, though Hengyuan still sent monthly payments to its account.
“The seventh worker may be alive,” she said.
