The shortfall disappeared.
Under the rescue agreement, fifty-one percent voting control should not have activated. Ma reached for the repurchase letter.
“A pleasure doing business, Mr. Shen. You need not trouble yourself with control.”
Shen kept his hand on the document.
“The condition requires resolution of all operating shortfalls and disclosure of all related liabilities. You omitted one.”
