Behind a glass wall, Zhou Jiming watched them. He raised his cup to Lin in a silent toast.

“Three years ago, Oracle had another name,” she said. “Tang designed its underlying architecture, then resigned without warning. The temp_patch interface you found last night follows his old specification.”
Lin did not tell her that his reward had pointed to the same man. “Why are you helping me?”
