The Laughter in the Chat
Before the matches started, the broadcast cut to a player interview. A loud, chain-wearing keyboard-and-mouse player smiled into the camera and said, “Controller aim can win fights. It can’t win championships.”
The crowd laughed.
Chase didn’t look up. He already knew the story people had written for him. Controller. Zero Build. Ranked demon. Offline fraud. Low ceiling. Every line in the script was built to make him the punchline.
The moment that turned him into a meme came in Game 2.
The zone pulled toward a western ridge with open ground below it, and two teams moved for the same rotation path. Chase and his duo, Ethan Walker, tried to avoid the obvious fight and rotate along the rocks and a thin treeline. It was the right read.
