It had filled with black water. A sign floated on its surface: MUSEUM OF HARM. VISITORS MUST NOT TOUCH THE EXHIBITS.
“Every door you open,” White Crow said, “will make you more like the person it wants to delete.”
The elevator reached Floor Twenty-Three.
Claws struck the heavy lab door, leaving five glowing grooves.
Lin stepped into the pod. “Give me three minutes.”
“You disappeared for eleven last time.”
“Then give me eleven. Don't believe I've returned.” He indicated the warning only he could see. “Even if I open my eyes, ask me something only we know.”
Gu understood. “The accident report they rejected last July. What was the attachment password?”
“I'll answer when I get back.”
Claws pierced the door.
