Lin Wan called officers to seal the scene. Lawyers and public-relations staff from Zero Degree Entertainment arrived within ten minutes, blaming equipment failure. Their leader offered Zhou Ran a confidentiality agreement and a new staff card.
“President Gu admires your composure. Continue on nights, and your salary doubles.”
The card read: TRAINEE NIGHT MANAGER, ZHOU RAN. AUTHORIZED ZONE: DINING HALL. ASSET SHARE: 1%.
Zhou Ran saw the number and smiled.
“Tell President Gu I won't sign.”
The man's expression hardened. “Then you quit?”
“No. I'll report tomorrow night.” Zhou Ran pocketed the card. “If I own one percent, this isn't only your restaurant anymore. Naturally, I need to inspect my asset.”
