When the Livestream Broke, the Lie Did Too
“You’re the harbor electrician?” he asked. “Come with me. The basement switch room is compromised. Somebody routed the backup power into the wrong line. The whole ER will overload.”
“Who did it?”
The doctor’s expression tightened. “A man in federal security gear. He said he was here for an inspection.”
Elias looked at Grace, and whatever last fragment of doubt he had been holding broke cleanly.
Trevor Hale was not just aware of the attack.
He was shaping it.
Down in the basement power room, the air was hot and metallic. Elias swept his flashlight across the panel and immediately saw three control wires swapped to the wrong terminals. Hidden behind the board was a remote trigger box.
