The Man Leaving the ER Was Not the One They Wanted

A nurse named Kelly Brooks, maybe late twenties, hands red with blood, had gotten there first and was shielding the girl like her own. “You know her?” Grace asked, running. “I do now.” They had barely cleared the stairwell when the entire hospital shuddered again. Another muffled blast hit the parking structure. The back doors of an ambulance blew open, and three gurneys slid down the ramp into the railings. People cried. People screamed for nurses. People started filming. “Turn the cameras off!” a security guard yelled. “All of them!” Too late. An anonymous account was already pushing live footage from inside the hospital with one caption: *Boston hospital under attack. They are hiding something.* The comments came in like surf.
