Chapter One: The New Repository

Shen Zhou created a temporary branch named `test` and appended a line to that day's events. `At 1:25, the office loses power.` He saved. Nothing happened. The fluorescent lights remained painfully white. The vents kept breathing. Just text, then. He laughed once and noticed that his palms were wet. Out of habit, he committed the change. `git commit -am "test: power off"` The instant he pressed Enter, the entire floor went black. The ventilation stopped, and the sound of the city rain rushed inward. No emergency lights came on. Even the server racks in the distance went dark, as if someone had removed not the power supply, but electricity itself from reality.
