Chapter Three: The Woman in the Pursuit Car
Those were the first words Su Wan had ever spoken inside Lu Xiao's car.
Rain had flooded the right side of a harbor tunnel. Lu Xiao had boasted he could drive through with his eyes closed. Su Wan clutched the seat belt all the way, then said as she got out, “When it rains, keep left. And heroes pay their own repair bills.”
Now recognition stayed in her eyes for only two seconds.
Shen Mo snapped his fingers. It was as if a strip of film had been pulled from her mind. She looked down in confusion. The button vanished from her palm.
“Anchor transfer successful,” Shen Mo dictated behind the monitors. “Version three. Reverse the roles.”
The world changed beneath his pen.
