Chapter Three: The Woman in the Pursuit Car
Su Wan's white continuity jacket darkened into black leather. The crew withdrew beyond the barriers, and steel gates rose at both ends of the highway. A heavy engine growled in the distant tunnel. A silver sports car without plates emerged. Su Wan was behind its wheel, watching Lu Xiao through the windshield with cold, unwavering eyes.
A mission appeared in his earpiece. “Survive the black car's pursuit. Execute a two-car explosion at the finish. The antagonist driver must die.”
“She isn't the antagonist.”
“In this version,” Shen Mo said, “she is.”
The silver car rammed him. Line prediction let Lu Xiao turn half a second early, and the cars scraped past each other.
