Chapter One: The Camera Doesn't Know Me
The livestream changed to a barbecue stall downstairs, where a drunk hugged a lamppost and sang. Han swung the camera away; the hall looked normal. He aimed it back and got an orange cat sprinting with a sausage.
The chat exploded with laughter.
“Brother Han films wildlife now?”
Lu stepped forward; the cat bounded forward. He grabbed Han's body camera, which began playing a square-dance lesson.
“What did you want the city to see?” Lu asked.
Pale but stubborn, Han produced a debt acknowledgment. “Sign, or we stay.”
Wind lifted its corner. Beside the QR code, Lu noticed faint print authorizing Mingjing Credit to retain his face and voice forever. When he photographed the paper, it remained clear until his finger entered frame.
