After six hours of comparison, most of the code looked real: retrieval layers, rankers, safety filters, sanitized variable names. But every compiled model gained 17.4 megabytes of memory with no source file or dependency. That memory wrote one object into his recommendation queue.

He cleared the cache, reinstalled the client, changed virtual machines, then tested a new account. Only his old account received her card. On the wire, the recommendation service returned nothing unusual. Chen appeared inside the client ranker, carrying a weight unlike any probability:
