Mira shut one in his face.
“I’m sorry. After today’s accident, my studio won’t accept a large event for three months.”
Before the door closed, his hand stopped it. “They found Theo Tang’s basement.”
Mira froze.
“An abandoned pharmaceutical plant west of the city. The access card matched. There were cameras, chains, and undeclared drugs. He planned to take Serena there after the reception.” Adrian passed a card through the gap. “You knew to search the car before the police found any evidence.”
“That proves I did my job.”
“It also proves you recognize the White Tern.”
The back of his card carried the faint image of a bird in flight, identical to the bouquet clasp.
