She did not touch it. Jo sealed the room while Adrian searched the musicians’ gallery. He found a shooting rest with fresh powder residue, though the weapon was gone.
“Someone rehearsed your death,” he said.
Mira stood where the photograph had been taken. Adrian appeared behind her in the glass, this time in the flesh.
“Raise your right hand.”
He complied. His reflection matched the image perfectly.
Mira turned and began removing his cuff link. Adrian caught her fingertips, his breath pausing. “Is this standard investigative procedure?”
“Verifying a suspect’s clothes. Don’t flatter yourself.”
